What to Expect When You Attend a Performance
The safety of our cast, crew, and guests is of the utmost importance to us. That’s why we’ve made extensive changes throughout the dam to keep you safe. You can do your part by following our procedures and taking our suggestions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. If you have any questions about what we’re doing to fight COVID-19, have concerns of any kind, or simply wish to discuss your groups situation, you can contact the Box Office at 604-944-4453, using our live chat or at [email protected].

What We’re Doing
New Spacing Between Groups
We’re putting a little extra space between groups so you do not shoulder to shoulder with a stranger. While we’ll still be seated at the table with other guests, you’ll still have your own little bubble.
Vaccine Passport Required Until April 7
We will be checking vaccine passports until April 7. After that, you won’t have to show your passport to access any of our events. Until that time, you are still required to present your GREEN vaccine passport pass.
Our Cast & Crew Will Wear PPE
Our servers and crew will continue to wear masks. Cast will continue to wear masks when in the dining room. Our cast will be removing their masks while on stage and performing. Also, our service staff will remove their masks when in show numbers from the dining room but will do their best to maintain physical distancing from you and your group.
Enhanced Cleaning Procedures
Our enhanced cleaning procedures are also continuing to ensure everyone’s safety.
FUN FACT: Did you know it’s impossible to get dirty cutlery? After we double wash our cutlery, our service team individually polishes each utensil to ensure you’re always given a clean one!
Extensive Employee Training
We’re providing extra training to our Cast and Crew members, including training on social distancing, sanitizing, and our new COVID-19 operating procedures, which we take very seriously. Our management team will be on-site at every performance coaching and encouraging strict adherence to these new practices.
Limiting the Acceptance of Cash
Cash can be dirty, and though there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread using cash, we’re not taking any chances. That’s why we’re asking guests to pay using our new Dam Express Checkout or with a credit or debit card. If you need to use cash, you’ll need to settle your bill at our box office, located at the front of the theatre so our servers are not handling cash transactions. Our Box Office has enhanced safety procedures to keep everyone safe. While we still welcome cash, we ask that you consider a card payment (which is faster anyway).
Hand Sanitizer Throughout the Restaurant
There are 6 new hand sanitizer stations placed throughout the restaurant. If you leave your seat for any reason, we ask that you use them. You’ll also be asked to use them when you check in to keep everyone safe.
Disposable Drink Menus and Online Drink Menus
We’ve eliminated our regular menus and replaced them with disposable paper menus that will be discarded after each use. We’ve also published our drink menu online so you can easily find your favorite drink online and point to it for your server to reduce interaction during the performance.
Contactless Mobile Check-In
When you arrive, we’ll ask your name or ask you to present your phone with your ticket’s QR code to allow for contactless check-in. We will not be collecting tickets during check-in and there is no need to print your tickets.
Symptom Free Policy
If you’re feeling unwell, please stay at home. If you present with the typical symptoms of COVID-19, we will rebook you free of charge to another performance date.
We’re Still Doing Drinks on Stage and Shout-Outs
Don’t worry, we’re still going to make your special celebrations by giving shout-outs from the stage to anyone celebrating something. Just let us know when you buy your ticket about your celebration details. If you purchased our Birthday or Stag/Stagette package, you’ll still get your special drink on stage.
We are pleased to resume normal guest interactivity in the theatre. We’ll still have our masks on, but you’re welcome to have removed yours. Also, if you have a Celebration Package and are brought on stage, you no longer need to wear your mask.
What you can do to help!
There are lots you can do to help us keep everyone who comes to the Giggle Dam safe. By now, most of these policies should be well-known to you as most restaurants are implementing similar procedures. That said, the Giggle Dam has some unique policies that we ask you to review before attending the performance or visiting us during the week.
Wash Your Hands Frequently
Prevent the spread by washing your hands frequently, especially after using the restroom. Remember, you should wash your hands for at least 30 seconds, which is about the time it takes to sing “Happy Birthday.”
Stay Home If You’re Feeling Unwell
If you find that you’re not feeling well the day of the performance, we ask that you please stay home and get well. There is no charge to rebook your tickets or receive their value as a Giggle Dam Gift Card. Guests who present with symptoms or appear to be ill will not be permitted to attend the performance.
Notify Us If You Feel Unwell After Attending a Performance
If you visit us and find that you’re feeling unwell with COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how minor, we ask that you contact the Box Office right away to let us know. We have procedures to notify Public Health Authorities who will contact guests that may have attended the performance on the same date so they can self-quarantine for 14-days. Your name or information will not be disclosed to other guests.
Use Dam Express Pay
Dam Express Pay is our optional self-checkout. Shortly before the conclusion of each performance, your server will place a card on your table that allows you to self-checkout without using the debit machine. If you have Apple Pay or Google Pay, checkout is instant. If not, you simply have to enter your credit card like you did when you purchased your tickets. Once self-checked out, you can simply exit through the front or rear RIGHT doors. This reduces the number of people using our debit machines, keeping everyone safe. Try Dam Express Pay now.
Our COVID-19 Safety and Re-Opening Operating Plan
We’ve produced a 56-page operating plan to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. The Giggle Dam takes the coronavirus very seriously. For this reason, we’re publishing our operating plan for you and your guests to review before coming to the Giggle Dam.
The Plan is always evolving and new versions will be posted as soon as new versions become effective.
Our current procedures version is: Version 1.4
Updated March 12, 2022.
Feel free to download it and share it with the guests coming with you to the Dam to let them know that we take their safety very seriously.
Posters and In Restaurant Messaging
Educating our guests about what we expect is important; That’s why we’ve placed posters and informative guides in the restrooms and in other areas of the Giggle Dam. These posters are freely downloadable for those bringing large groups, are coming for corporate events, etc. and can be easily emailed to your guests. Together, we’ll stop the spread.
We’re Always Listening
If you have a concern that we haven’t addressed, contact us and we’ll be happy to provide you with some personal reassurance, answer your questions, or make special arrangements for you.
We can’t wait to welcome you all back to the Giggle Dam in the safest way possible. Together, we’ll still eat, laugh and celebrate without the fear associated with this horrible pandemic. Thank you for being a local patron! We’ll see you soon.
